Turmion Kätilöt

Turmion Kätilöt

The shows in Italy were all awesome. Thanks a lot for a great time!!! Turmion gave us a 3 CD Disco Music Collection as a gift, so the hole last day and night in Italy was baited with Discoparty3000dancing.com.

After Italy we went to Ludwigsburg and Rockfabrik where Turmion Kätilöt decided to refine their show with a little S&M elements. Something that wasn’t really appreciated by our audience (which is fully understandable) but highly entertaining for us and the crew. But sometimes things just go too far, and I guess this was one of those occasions. Our show at Rockfabrik went on really nice. Awesome audience and really warm on stage. Thank you!!!

After Ludwigsburg we went to Strasbourg for a day off. Do I need to tell you how it ended!? Disaster as usual. David and Emanuel went scouting for a spa and sauna place but only found a gay sauna club. Most of the others slept through the hole day and started drinking directly after “breakfast” at 19.00. Then the Finns arrived, Peter bought 4 bottles of vodka, busparty, walking to a bar, another bar, another bar, another bar, etc.

The day after we were all pretty paralyzed and it wasn’t until we were on stage that we all really functioning 100%. This was the last day for Turmion Kätilöt on the tour, so we pulled some pranks on them of course. First thing they noticed when entering the stage was the self-glowing dildos that we attached to their microphones. Then we replaced all their water bottles with vodka bottles. And on the second last song Peter showed up on stage dressed in stockings with a baguette inside, stockings over his head and a Turmion Kätilöt t-shirt. Great success!! Engel also did an awesome show, and when we entered the stage the audience went bananas and helped us pull of one of the best shows of the tour so far. I guess the recipe for curing hangover is a French audience?

Today we’re back in Germany again and Aschaffensburg. We couldn’t park the bus near the venue so we had to park at a hotel outside town and shuttle our selfs and all the gear with the help of the promoter and local farmers. We'’ve had a nice walk in town and are now preparing for sound check.

Thanks Turmion Kätilöt for an unforgettable time on the road. Always with happy smiles on your faces. Always making jokes and giving us good laughs. Always shitfaced. Until next time…

ASCHAFFENSBURG!!!!!!!!!! See you tonight!

ITALY!

ITALY!

The show at Dynamo was awesome, thanks for that! After the show we went by night over to Italy and Mezzago. And when we woke up in the morning it was to different animal sounds and smells. The bus was parked at a farm where we could use their power, showers and toilets. Shuttles took us back and forward to the venue (Bloom) a couple of kilometers away. The weather was really nice, so some of us took a walk and had a cold beer at some outdoor restaurant while others just hanged out at the venue. The show later the same evening was really good! Great people and great atmosphere! André throw his Gibson Thunderbird straight up in the ceiling after the last song so the neck broke :-) I guess this is why bass players always carry around a spare bass on tour. I’ve seen this happen before :-)

At the moment we’re in Roncade/Italy. We’ve just had dinner and are trying to kill some time before show 23.15. Tonight will be awesome!!!! See you later!

Chaos & Confusion!

Chaos & Confusion!

We had such a good time that we forgot to write the blog :-D Czech Republic show was awesome! Thanks a lot!

After that we went to Vienna and had another awesome show. Then at night we drove to Munchen and had a day off. Peter and Kimmo decided to take a hotel room to rest in a real bed, shower, relax, have access to internet and so on. Guess how that went. Neither of them have any memory from dinner and forward. The rest of us stayed at the bus. David & Emanuel bunkered up at the local music store and Bauhaus. Then we spread out with Engel to different restaurants and had some spicy food. At 8 in the evening a couple of Engel guys went to a cocktail bar while David, Andre, Emanuel and the singer from Engel went to a spa.

Funny story:
First we made sure that there were a bar inside because beer + sauna is an unbeatable combo. When we had changed into swimming pants and entered the spa we quickly realized that we were the only ones with swimming pants. It was a nudist spa!? Anyway we decided NOT to remove our pants and jumped in the swimming pool. 5 minutes later two security guards showed up and instructed us to remove our pants, and since we still had beer + sauna in our minds we all went to the locker room and removed our swimming pants. Back again all naked we choosed the sauna with less naked fat ladies inside and after 10 minutes we felt that it was time for the first beer. It felt a little awkward to sit naked in the bar thou, so we wrapped towels around our waists before entering and ordering. 5 minutes later the two security guards show up again -"How's your beers guys?". Apparently we were supposed to have clothes on in the bar :-\ We managed to do everything wrong of course.

After the spa we joined the rest of Engel at the cocktail bar, and when they closed some of us continued to another place, and then another on after that. Do I have to say we were pretty wasted when we woke up the day after J The show later in the evening at Backstage turned out to be one of the best of the tour so far. Incredible audience!!! We had to go back after Shut Your Mouth and give you a bonus, ha ha ha. Thanks again Germany!!!

Now we're at the venue Dynamo in Zurich. Building the stage set and preparing for another awesome evening!

See you tonight!!!

FINLAND 0 – PAIN 1

FINLAND 0 – PAIN 1

We worked our way all the way down to HELLsinki today and every show so far has been awesome. You Finnish people really know how to have a good time!!!

The venue (Lutakko) in Jyväskylä has a really nice service for their guests, a sauna in the backstage J So 10 minutes after the show we all sat in the sauna with cold beer. There is no better way to relax and get the adrenaline out of your body after an awesome show.

Tonight we’re taking over Nosturi in Helsinki and we really have high expectations on this one. It’s Saturday, the presales are really good, and we have a lot of friends here who will join us.

Catch you later!

Griståget 2011 - End of part one.

Griståget 2011 - End of part one.

Holy shit!!!! (sorry for the bad language) We just ended part one of “Griståget 2011” with RAUBTIER and continued alone to Finland and Oulu, and I must say that I already miss the sons of bitches. Last night we had a farewell party at Hulkoffs place in Haparanda and… well, to be honest I don’t have much memory of what happened. We just woke up today with bruises, shoes covered in shit, and torn clothes. I have a vague memory of huge cows, a tractor, an ukulele, fighting in the bus, gin and orange juice, and diesel. Also, I recall someone stole a road sign with concrete foundation and everything and dragged it inside the bus, setting fire to an hooligan horn at 4 o’clock in the morning, and tons of other sick stuff I don’t even want to remember. We’re already looking forward to the second part of Griståget in November! Ha ha ha!!!

Tonight we start the Finnish leg of the tour in Oulu and it’s going to be great to work our way down through Finland and end the first part of our tour in Helsinki on Saturday. Finland is PAINland and we know that all of the shows will be awesome!!! Bring it on!!

PAIN & RAUBTIER SCHWEINE ZUG 2011

PAIN & RAUBTIER SCHWEINE ZUG 2011

Finally we're on the road again! This time with RAUBTIER from Sweden. Last night we kicked off in Borlänge/Sweden and had a pretty nice evening even thou we suffered from serious technical problems the first 3 songs. After the show we were all exhausted from months of planning and nervous breakdowns. Later when we started to pack our trailer we realized that we brougt to much stuff, so we had to play Tetris for a couple of hours :-)

Now we're in a restaurant in Östersund/Sweden building up the energy needed to kick som serious ass tonight.

Catch you later!!!

Thank you Romania! It was great to come back to your country since it was a while since last time with Nightwish. It wasn’t easy to get there thou. Two planes and a 5 hour car ride, both ways, in 40-degree heat, without AC. We had so many beers on our way over there that we had to fight hangover before going on stage :-) The spa at our hotel did miracles to us thou, too bad we couldn’t stay for a week for vacation. It would have been nice.

Thank you Graspop!

Thank you Graspop!

Thank you Graspop for an awesome show. Best show of the year so far! We traveled for 9 hours to get there and expected nothing since we were supposed to play at the same time as Judas Priest. But. WOW! It's not every day you feel that you're one with thousands of people. We went from bad conditions to very, very good conditions and we hope that you had just as good time in front of the stage as we had on the stage. Thanks a lot! We will never forget! Already looking forward to Trix in October 22nd!

After the show we just took it easy for a couple of hours. Had some food, some drinks, and enjoyed the fact that we were going to see Judas Priest after all since Ozzy canceled and Judas show was moved to Ozzy's spot. We would have loved to see Ozzy too, but I guess you can't have it all.

The day after was spent at our little hotel with coffee, walks in the neighborhood, and brainstorming ideas to our forthcoming tour that starts in September. Crazy stuff will happen I can promise you ;-) Around 3 in the afternoon we started our 9 hour journey back to Sweden, and early Monday morning we could call it a weekend.

Now it's 2 weeks until next show which is at Samfest Rock in Romania. See you there!
